Great team spirit leads to fantastic results at Fiber Highway

Fiber Highway is an ICT installation company that specializes in telecommunication, data center works and installation of fiber-optic networks. Even though they are a Finnish organization with offices in Porvoo and Hamina, their team is international, and English is used as the common language at work.

Matti Anttila works as a team leader at Fiber Highway and is responsible for making sure that there is enough staff and that the staff has the necessary skills for the job. He sees the great teamwork and team spirit at Fiber Highway as one of their greatest assets in the business.

– All my colleagues are helpful, friendly and well-trained. When you combine our team spirit with all the in-house knowledge we have, it really explains why we are able to deliver such fantastic quality to our customers, Anttila says excitedly.

Career paths and training opportunities

Fiber Highway is interested in helping their employees get more experience and knowledge by offering them training opportunities and real career paths. Jesse Halmetoja started at Fiber Highway two years ago as an installer and has worked his way up to being a team leader today.

– We actually got to go all the way to Belgium to learn more about the installation of specific panels. It is really important to me to have the access to training, as I am not as experienced on the field as I would like to be, Halmetoja says.

Zoran Vudrag works both as a team leader and a supervisor and he is always felt welcome at Fiber Highway. He likes to spend time with his colleagues also outside of the working hours.

– It is a pleasure to come to work, as we spend time together also outside of work, where we can really bond with each other. This makes us work better as a team at work. Usually on Fridays, we play sports together after work. It can be anything from football to floorball, depending on how many people are coming, Vudrag says.

Even though work is taken seriously, Halmetoja, Anttila and Vudrag all agree that their team spirit is what makes Fiber Highway such a great workplace.
